Product Copy That Converts for Sports Bra Listings

Source:News / Time:2026-09-21

Open five competing sports bra listings and you will read the same three adjectives: comfortable, breathable, supportive. They are true of every bra on the market, which means they differentiate nothing. Copy that converts describes a mechanism the customer can picture herself experiencing, in the situation she will be in. The difference between a strap that stays put and supportive is the difference between a two percent and a four percent conversion rate on the same traffic.

Lead with the mechanism

Write the feature, then the reason, then the outcome. Straps converge into a vertical panel at the center back, so they cannot slide off the shoulder during arm work, so you are not adjusting the bra mid-class. A three-row hook closure on the underband lets you tighten the fit as the elastic relaxes with washing, so the bra keeps performing in month six. Each of those sentences carries information; none of them relies on an adjective doing the work.

Structure the description around her questions

Four blocks, in this order: what it is for, naming the activities; how it fits and how to choose a size; what it is made of and how to care for it; and what is included, such as whether pads are removable. Customers scan for their own question and stop reading when they find it. Burying sizing information under marketing prose is the single most common cause of a size-related return.

Be careful with claims

Impact ratings are a specification, not a regulated standard, so say what the garment was designed for and let the customer decide: designed for cycling, rowing and dance fitness is defensible; maximum support for all high impact sport is not. Avoid medical and posture claims entirely unless you hold evidence, and avoid absolute terms like permanently or never. A claim that survives a marketplace review is worth more than one that reads well.

Fit copy reduces returns more than sizing charts do

Charts are consulted after the purchase; copy is read before it. State how the band runs, whether the cup is shallow or generous, what the model is wearing and her measurements, and what to do if she is between sizes. If your bra is engineered around B and C cups, say so plainly. That one sentence prevents the mismatched orders that generate most of the return cost in the category.

Write once, adapt per channel

Keep one master description with the mechanism sentences intact and adapt length per channel: long form for owned e-commerce where you control the page, condensed for marketplaces, and a two-line version for wholesale line sheets where the buyer is comparing ten styles in a spreadsheet. Do not rewrite the mechanism each time. Translating the same substance keeps your claims consistent and your customer service answers aligned with what the page promised.
