Meridian Form Sweden: Ski and Snowboard Base Layers Field Test Report
Meridian Form is a Sweden-based brand whose ski and snowboard base layers is one of its most demanding programmes. Meridian Form runs its ski and snowboard base layers across Sweden and asked us to prove the fabric in the field rather than in a brochure. This report covers a full season of real use with brushed thermal knit.

Meridian Form: Brushed Thermal Knit in use during long days on the mountain
Evaluation background
The programme covers base layer tops, leggings and neck gaiters, used for long days on the mountain. The environment is cold air with high exertion and sudden stops and the requirement written into the brief was warmth without bulk and no clamminess on the lift. Fabric was selected on that basis rather than on price alone.

Test scope
Twenty garments were issued to regular participants and tracked for eight weeks. Every item was used for long days on the mountain and laundered under the same domestic conditions, so the only real variable was wear.
Conditions covered
The programme ran through cold air with high exertion and sudden stops. That is the environment the fabric has to survive, and it is harsher than any laboratory chamber we could have built.

What we measured
Garments were inspected every two weeks for surface wear, seam condition, dimensional change and retained hand. Fabric was retested at the end of the period against ISO 11092.
What users reported
Participants logged comfort, drying behaviour and any irritation. The recurring comment was that the brushed thermal knit stayed comfortable at the point where warmth without bulk and no clamminess on the lift would normally be lost.

Verdict and recommendation
Field testing confirmed the laboratory picture. The brushed thermal knit held its thermal resistance above 0.08 m2K/W across the whole season and we recommend it for the next programme without change. For Meridian Form the practical next steps are to keep the current specification for the repeat, retain the shade standard, and issue ISO 11092 results with every lot so any claim can be supported with data.
